If you haven’t tried our Braised Lamb Shank yet, you are missing out!

This lamb shank from Sweetgrass Ranch in Big Timber, MT, is braised for five hours in Kona Porter Ale, a dark porter from Hawaii brewed with Kona coffee. It’s served over root vegetables and spinach and topped with tobacco onions.

We recommend pairing this with a pint of Kona Porter (just $3.50) to enhance the flavors.

If you’re looking for a glass of wine, the Chateau Ste Michelle Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley is a great match. The clove and allspice in this jammy cab pair perfectly with the tender lamb shank and root veggies. We offer this outstanding cabernet for $7.50 a glass.

For a bottle to share, we highly recommend Saviah Cellars Big Sky Cuvee, another great wine out of the Columbia Valley. Imagine a cup of rich coffee with chocolate and cinnamon – that is what will come to mind when pairing this wine with the lamb shank. The Big Sky Cuvee is a Bordeaux blend with dark fruit, cocoa, and cinnamon, with a long satisfying finish. Saviah’s winemaker is a Montana native and graduated from MSU. The Big Sky Cuvee is a tribute to their Montana roots. A great value at $45 a bottle!

In the Mood for Tea?

December 8, 2010

Our baristas have carefully selected high quality loose leaf teas for your enjoyment.

Our flavors include English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Cinnamon, Tropical Green, Paris (a staff favorite with a splash of milk!), Gen Mai Cha, Mint, Lemon Herb, Chamomile Citrus, and White Vanilla Grapefruit.

Come in for a morning pastry and tea, or enjoy a cup after your meal.

Our new dinner menu features scallops that are cold smoked and then pan seared and served over maple butternut squash risotto with a bourbon glaze and fried leeks.

We recommend pairing this with a glass of Fidélitas Semillon from Columbia Valley, WA. The wine is full-bodied and creamy, with notes of lemon, pear, figs and crisp acidity on the finish. This makes it a wonderful complement to creamy butternut squash risotto and smoked scallops. One of the owners of Fidélitas Winery is a local Bozemanite.

If you’re looking for a bottle to share, the Marc Bredif Vouvray is a staff favorite! The racy acidity makes it a versatile wine for pairing with food, refreshing your palate between bites. Marc Bredif is a renowned producer of Vouvray.

Come in tonight and let us tempt your taste buds.

Reservations recommended, please call 586-2244 or visit our homepage www.weebeescafe.com.

Every Wednesday night our wine flights are $1 off! Plus get $1 off a glass pour or 25% off a bottle from your flight. This is a great way to sample four new wines and see which you like best, or which pairs best with your meal.

We recently changed our wine list and have three NEW flights offered!

Our white flight is meant to tease your palate – venture from a creamy Viognier, to a slightly salty Insolia, a spicy Gewürztraminer, and finish with a lightly sweet Riesling. Try starting your evening by sampling this flight with our Thai Crab Cakes and be ready for a taste adventure.

We are offering two red flights this winter. The Red Made Simple is designed for the wine novice who would like to try four classic reds – a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, Washington Merlot, Argentinian Malbec, and Australian Shiraz. The Winter Warmer flight is comprised of four warm, spicy reds that make you want to cozy up in front of a fireplace. This flight features a Cabernet Franc blend from South Africa, a California Zinfandel, a Bordeaux blend from Washington, and a Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa. Sample either of these with our Meat & Cheese plate for an appetizing start to your evening.

Flights are normally $9 each, on Wednesdays enjoy $1 off plus an additional $1 off glass pour or 25% off a bottle from your selected flight. (So if you decide you really love that South African Cabernet Franc, it would be just $5.50 for a glass or $18 for a bottle!)

Reservations recommended but not required. Call 586-2244 or visit our homepage www.weebeescafe.com.
